Aviation Services

Dr. Corinne Votaw Freer

Aviation places unique psychological and identity demands on the people who keep it moving. Performance pressure, medical certification concerns, irregular schedules, and the expectation to always remain composed can make it difficult to seek support through traditional pathways.

My aviation-focused services are designed specifically for this reality. I offer confidential, aviation-aware support that respects both human functioning and career protection, delivered by a licensed psychologist who understands aviation culture from the inside.

Coaching for Pilots & Air Traffic Controllers

I provide life and performance coaching for pilots and air traffic controllers who want support without entering formal psychotherapy or creating a diagnostic mental health record.

This work focuses on:

  • Stress and performance pressure
  • Cognitive overload, rumination, and burnout
  • Career and identity transitions
  • Relationship strain related to aviation schedules
  • Confidence around evaluations, training, or role changes

Coaching is not therapy. It does not involve diagnosing or treating mental illness. Instead, it offers a practical, psychologically informed space to improve functioning, resilience, and decision-making within the operational realities of aviation.

This service is commonly used by:

  • Airline, corporate, military, and general aviation pilots
  • Student pilots and pilots in training or upgrade phases
  • Air traffic controllers navigating stress, burnout, or transition

FAA Gender Dysphoria Evaluations

I also provide FAA-aligned gender dysphoria evaluations for pilots and air traffic controllers who require documentation as part of the FAA medical certification process.

These evaluations are:

  • Conducted by a licensed psychologist familiar with FAA standards
  • Structured, professional, and documentation-focused
  • Separate from ongoing therapy or coaching
  • Designed to meet FAA requirements while minimizing unnecessary barriers

This service is strictly evaluative and does not require long-term treatment or ongoing therapy unless independently desired.

Aviation-Aware, Career-Conscious Care

Whether you are seeking coaching support or a required FAA evaluation, my work is grounded in a clear understanding of:

  • Aviation culture and regulatory pressure
  • Medical certification concerns
  • The high-performance expectations placed on aviation professionals

The goal is clarity, stability, and support—without unnecessary risk to your career.
