Gender Affirming Therapy

Dr. Corinne Votaw Freer

I'm Corinne, a licensed psychologist and therapist dedicated to serving people in various stages of exploring, accepting, and becoming the best version of themselves.

I've helped hundreds of people of all ages explore their gender. I help navigate the transition process, avoiding the perils of transitioning alone. This includes support with relationships, employment, religious beliefs, family dynamics, education, and developing confidence that translates to an improved quality of life in all settings.

In addition to providing guidance through the transition process, I also support transgender individuals who are facing hardships related to the political and social climate of their state. This includes navigating the fear and uncertainty that can come with the potential loss of rights or the emotional strain of living in an environment where their identity is under scrutiny. Together, we work to build resilience, foster self-compassion, and create strategies to thrive despite these challenges.

If you are beginning to explore your gender identity, seeking support through transition, or looking for guidance in the face of external hardships, I am here to help you embrace your true self with confidence and pride. Contact me today to begin your journey towards self-discovery and empowerment.

LGBTQIA+ Affirming Treatment From An LQI Provider

There is a notable lack of mental health professionals who are part of the LGBTQIA+ community and understand that therapy involves more than just issues related to sexual orientation or gender identity.

Finding a therapist can be challenging, and concerns about their understanding, supportiveness, and safety may not be clear until after a few sessions. Biases often appear subtly, such as through microaggressions or misgendering. Having worked in both progressive and conservative regions, I am well-acquainted with the challenges our community faces and the increasing threats to our rights. My goal is to build trust with you, ensuring a therapy environment where you feel safe, accepted, and validated.

My Experience

As a Licensed Psychologist, my background includes extensive work in LGBTQIA+ centers across the nation's most affirming regions. I have supported hundreds of individuals, couples, and polypods, many of whom were navigating their transition journey. As a queer therapist, I prioritize understanding and safety in every session, ensuring a supportive and affirming therapeutic experience.
