LGBTQIA+ Therapy

I am Corinne, a licensed psychologist and LGBTQIA+ affirming therapist based in Denver, currently welcoming new clients in Colorado and across state lines through my PSYPACT license. My expertise spans working with teenagers (14+), adults, and older adults.

With a PsyPact license, I extend my affirming care to individuals living in states where access to LGBTQIA+ friendly services may be limited or hostile. My experience is rooted in years of service at various LGBTQIA+ centers, where I provided affirming care, group therapy, and engaged in community outreach initiatives, equipping me to support a diverse client base with empathy and understanding.

As a member of the LGBTQIA+ community (specifically identifying as L-Q-I), I firmly believe that effective therapy stems from a therapist's deep understanding of the community's unique experiences. I advocate for the importance of receiving treatment from a provider within the LGBTQIA+ community to ensure successful outcomes, foster a deeper connection, and mitigate potential biases or misunderstandings inherent in cisgender/heterosexual perspectives and the savior complex.

LGBTQIA+ Affirming Treatment From An LQI Provider

There is a notable lack of mental health professionals who are part of the LGBTQIA+ community and understand that therapy involves more than just issues related to sexual orientation or gender identity.

Finding a therapist can be challenging, and concerns about their understanding, supportiveness, and safety may not be clear until after a few sessions. Biases often appear subtly, such as through microaggressions or misgendering. Having worked in both progressive and conservative regions, I am well-acquainted with the challenges our community faces and the increasing threats to our rights. My goal is to build trust with you, ensuring a therapy environment where you feel safe, accepted, and validated.

Common Concerns I Work With

My clients seek support for a range of issues, including depression, anxiety, past trauma, or social challenges. Whether you're dealing with oppressive systems, contemplating transitioning, or simply striving to overcome personal obstacles, I am here to provide guidance and support.

My Experience

As a Licensed Psychologist in Colorado (PSY6298), my background includes extensive work in LGBTQIA+ centers across the nation's most affirming regions. I have supported hundreds of individuals, couples, and polypods, many of whom were navigating their transition journey. As a queer therapist, I prioritize understanding and safety in every session, ensuring a supportive and affirming therapeutic experience.
