Depression & Anxiety Therapy

Depression and anxiety often show up together, and sometimes it's hard to tell where one ends and the other begins — the exhaustion and numbness of depression, the racing worry and tension of anxiety, both pulling at you at once. In therapy, we work together to understand what's actually driving it and build a real path back to feeling like yourself.

What Depression Can Look Like

Depression doesn't always look like sadness. It often shows up as:

  • Numbness, flatness, or a loss of interest in things you used to enjoy
  • Low motivation and difficulty getting started on ordinary tasks
  • Fatigue that sleep doesn't fix
  • Irritability, guilt, or a persistent sense of not being enough
  • Withdrawing from people, even when you don't want to be alone
  • Difficulty concentrating or making decisions

What Anxiety Can Look Like

  • Racing or intrusive thoughts, chronic worry, or rumination that's hard to shut off
  • Physical symptoms — a racing heart, tight chest, upset stomach, muscle tension
  • Panic attacks, or the fear of having one
  • Avoidance of situations, people, or decisions that trigger anxious spirals
  • Difficulty sleeping because your mind won't slow down
  • Perfectionism or over-preparing as a way to manage uncertainty

Either one can be tied to a specific event, build slowly over time, or seem to arrive without a clear cause. All of those are legitimate reasons to seek support.

How Therapy Helps

We start by understanding what's actually driving what you're feeling — whether that's unresolved grief, chronic stress, trauma, a life transition, or patterns of thinking that keep you stuck — rather than just managing symptoms. From there, we build practical skills to interrupt the spiral in the moment, alongside deeper work on what keeps it in place, so relief now doesn't come at the expense of lasting change. The goal isn't to eliminate all worry or force yourself to feel better — it's to change your relationship to what you're carrying so it stops running the show.

How It Works

We start with a free 15-minute consultation, so you can ask questions and see if we're a good fit. Sessions run 50 minutes over secure, HIPAA-compliant video, typically weekly to start, available to clients in 45+ states through my PSYPACT license.
